How to listen and take notes

One of the key elements in getting facts correct is being able to listen carefully and make notes. You may also use a recorder. You will find when covering events that many reporters have different facts in their stories. They misspell names, get dates wrong, even misquote the speakers. Why is this? They didn’t listen carefully, or they didn’t take good notes, or they didn’t record exactly what the speaker said.

Read this chapter about how to train yourself to be a better listener and note taker, so that your stories will be 100 percent accurate.

This link will take you to a pdf (you may have to right click to open it).
